King’s Cultural Institute is embarking on a bold new initiative to establish itself as a premiere centre of research and collaboration between academics and artists. In anticipation of its 200th anniversary in 2029, King’s has ambitiously expanded its cultural sites from Somerset House to Bush House in Aldwych, with new galleries and museums in South London dedicated to health, science and well-being. I was commissioned to write a research brief that articulates the transformative impact and stakes of the arts in society, ranging King’s efforts and possibilities against exemplars world-wide.
